Health

The Ministry of Health will observe Public Health Week 2026 from 6–10 April under the theme “Ready, Set, Action!”. This year’s theme encourages the community to reflect on progress made while highlighting the steps needed to build a healthier future for all Bermudians.

The Minister of Health, theHon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP, emphasised the importance of collective action in improving the island’s wellbeing: “Public Health Week is a reminder that every one of us has a role to play in building a healthier Bermuda. ‘Ready, Set, Action!’ is more than a theme—it is a call to move from intention to meaningful change. Whether we are promoting physical activity, supporting our children, or caring for our own well-being, the choices we make today shape the health of our island tomorrow. I encourage everyone to participate in this week’s activities and take one positive step toward a stronger, healthier future.”

Public Health Week will begin on Monday, 6 April, with a public pop‑up outside the Ministry of Health Headquarters, 10 am – 2 pm, promoting healthy living, offering free health screenings, and highlighting Department of Health programmes and services.

On Tuesday, 7 April, at 4:30 pm, the Ministry will hold the Pauleter Stevens 5K Memorial Walk, a four‑mile event honouring the memory of Pauleter Stevens, a cherished member of the Ministry whose resilience, dedication to service, and advocacy for chronic‑disease awareness left a lasting impact on colleagues and the wider community. The walk serves as a meaningful tribute to her legacy and the values she embodied, and all are welcome to attend.

On Thursday, 9 April, Youth Fun Fitness Activities will take place at Victoria Park, featuring physical‑activity stations and interactive Department of Health booths. Children aged 4–16. This event is by invitation only for some of the Government holiday camps.

The week will conclude on Friday, 10 April, with the Staff Appreciation Day/Health Heroes Recharge, held exclusively for Ministry of Health employees and celebrating our team while modelling the wellness principles promoted throughout the week.

Public Health Week 2026 reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening community wellbeing, and promoting healthier lifestyles across Bermuda. The Ministry encourages all residents to join Monday’s health pop-up and Tuesday's walk and continue taking meaningful steps toward a healthier future.
