Shark Country

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is proud to announce that the film "Shark Country," featuring legendary Bermudian ocean explorer Teddy Tucker, was chosen by and is now available on WaterBear, a leading streaming platform dedicated to environmental issues.

This film highlights the critical issue of declining shark populations in Bermuda and the broader challenges facing our marine environment.

"Shark Country" explores Teddy Tucker's observations, along with those of other local fishermen and hunters, on the disappearance of sharks from Bermuda's waters and the decline in fish stocks over the past 40 years.

The film underscores the ecological imbalance caused by the loss of these apex predators and the urgent need for sustainable marine management.

The film Shark Country was the lead film promoted for the month of September in their email blast to all their members and leads the billing on their streaming platform.
